Chief Administrative Officer

Provides strategic and operational leadership in the planning, development and implementation of financial strategies as well as in human, material and IT resource management for activities such as budgetary planning and oversight, to ensure Faculty teaching and research activities run effectively and efficiently.

Essential Qualifications

Theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and human resource management normally acquired through a combination of an undergraduate degree as well as a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a management position

Essential Qualifications

Knowledge of management and administration normally acquired through postsecondary education or equivalent experience with adult learning (BEd or MEd an asset)
Seven years’ progressive management and leadership experience in all aspects of human resources project planning and operations
Training and experience in project management principles, including work plans, critical paths, milestones, risk assessment, detailed analysis and reporting
Experience with adult learning and continuing professional development
Knowledge and experience regarding financial management, including forecasting, reporting and analysis
Experience with accreditation processes of professional organizations and Canadian medical colleges (an asset)
Ability to collaborate with partners, both internal and external
Experience in writing, interpretation and application of policies and procedures
Ability to summarize, analyze and maintain an overview of multiple activities in a complex and rapidly changing environment
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences at all levels of leadership

Certification related to psychometric tools aimed at increasing self-awareness, organizational efficiency, group dynamics and leadership
Executive coaching certification
Ten years’ progressive experience in organizational development, including proven expertise in learning and development, performance management, employee recognition and engagement, succession planning and project management
Experience in influencing senior management regarding institutional strategic initiatives
Experience in implementing change management principles and procedures for complex, institution-wide programs
Knowledge of laws, regulations and agreements with political actors that can affect organizational performance
