Customer Support Specialist

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Experience, you will serve to improve the overall customer and channel experience by working directly with our resellers, customers and vendors to ensure that all operational procedures and practices related to RMA activities are carried out in a timely and accurate manner. This position also assists with RMA requirements from third-party vendors. This is a Limited Term position, 6 months to a year long.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Providing professional service by responding to and processing incoming calls/emails from channel partners (resellers), customers (end users) and internal teams in a call center environment.
  • Working with additional SMART teams to resolve customer and channel inquiries as needed.
  • Tracking and support Channel, RMA and sales activity and following up on outstanding issues with customers and resellers to ensure that their cases have been resolved
  • Asking probing questions to understand customer concerns to ensure quick and accurate resolution.
  • Ability to showcase companies value proposition in all interactions.
  • Ensure open, positive, collaborative communication with stakeholders.
  • Participating in the creation and improvement of departmental policies and processes
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure a timely and consistent customer experience.
  • Provide process and use guidance for SMART applications, databases, and other applications or tools used by team members to perform RMA functions effectively
  • Identifying areas where training or process changes can be made to increase the effectiveness of our support to our partners and customers.

    Education and work experience

  • Minimum two years customer service experience in a call center
  • Telephone support skills and excellent written communications skills
  • Certificate in business degree or diploma or combined experience in a related industry.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft® software, including Excel®, Word and Outlook®, and a solid understanding of the Internet

Sales Development Representative

Reporting to the Director, Education Sales remotely, you will be responsible for growing SMART’s education sales within your region. This field-based position will focus on new customer acquisition. Identifying and contacting prospects through an outbound approach, working as a liaison between sales and marketing teams.

Focus will be broken down into three major areas:
1. Lead qualification and distribution
2. Cold Calling as part of a specific regional calling campaign including software renewals
3. Sales coordination around specific sales activities including shows, demos, and software coordination. You will be responsible for meeting weekly calling expectations, exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets and growing business relationships within your defined areas.

Duties and Responsibilities ​

  • Service inbound leads and renewals with a focus on engaging and qualifying prospective customers.
  • Execute outbound strategy to prospects via research, cold calls, emails, and social media
  • Qualify leads before distribution to Education Sales Consultant and Channel Manager
  • Report on lead qualification and call activity in CRM and territory calls
  • Research prospects via web, social media, historical sales data, etc.
  • Coordinate and execute pre/post event show outreach strategy
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets for specific region or area assigned

Education and work experience

Pricing Analyst

Responsible for managing the complete cycle of the bid response process, which includes researching and compiling content for request for proposal (RFP) documents and bid proposals. In addition, will participate in reviews and recommendation of existing product pricing; preparing pricing for bid responses and ensuring effective price positioning for bids and other special pricing situations; maintain pricing in SMART’s various systems.

Duties and Responsibilities ​

  • Assist pricing management & optimization team with implementation of pricing strategies for bid responses or other special pricing situations
  • Research, identify and track potential bid opportunities
  • Analyze RFPs and prepare summaries of proposal requirements
  • Assist and support in the creation of professional and comprehensive bid proposals for customers
  • Working with other departments to ensure that consistent and accurate information about SMART and its products is conveyed in RFP responses
  • Consulting with field sales staff about RFPs and special pricing requests
  • Contribute to administration of government contracts
  • Participate in post-bid and decision-response debriefing sessions
  • Tracking bid-related activities and pricing
  • Evaluate, review and prepare special pricing approval letters
  • Maintain and update price list on SMART’s channel partner portal
  • Maintain pricing in SMART’s various systems
  • Maintain special pricing in ordering systems
  • Assist with pricing rebates
  • Track, record and report on competitive pricing

System Validation Specialist

SMART is hiring a multi-disciplinary Verification and Validation Specialist to join our System Validation team. In this role, you will be a key member of the Product Development team and will be responsible for providing expertise and support to ensure the successful delivery of Product Development projects. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of design reliability, verification and validation activities, driving technical issues to resolution, and for effectively communicating with a cross functional team audience.

Responsibilities and accountabilities

This position will focus on the design verification and validation of system and component level physical hardware in an R&D lab environment. Responsibilities will include:

  • Verification and validation of fully integrated system (hardware, firmware, and application software):
    • Verification and validation of systems based on product requirements, technical specifications and usage scenarios
    • Verification of hardware, firmware, and software interactions at the sub-system and system levels
    • Define, document, and execute test cases in a lab environment.  This includes the documentation, analysis, interpretation, and recommendation generation based on the test results.
    • Write defect and test summaries and test reports to demonstrate progress and communicate this as required
    • Manage product defects and technical issues, driving them to resolution with the appropriate development team.
  • Participate in product reliability testing:
    • Test plan development
    • Test plan execution
    • Test plan automation
  • Develop software and hardware tools to support design verification activities
  • Automation of test cases using LabView, C++, Java, or Python
  • Participate in debugging and root cause analysis to support the resolution of customer and manufacturing related escalations.

Education
