Mechanical Technician

We’re seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance Team offshore, North Sea.

As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class results to our UK business by:

  • Managing preventative maintenance activity to ensure we maximise plant uptime to maximise value and eliminate waste and risk
  • Fault finding and repair of all Mechanical equipment relating to production, utilities, and safety systems across the offshore installation
  • Safe operation and isolation of all mechanical equipment in line with CNOOC safe working practices, procedures and policies
  • Readily accepting accountability to ensure that all breakdowns are investigated thoroughly, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including our vendor supply chain companies, to develop safe, practical and effective solutions
  • Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Technician / Maintenance Supervisor, carry out emergency duties as identified in the Emergency Response Plan, or as directed by the OIM
  • Ensuring operational delivery whilst keeping abreast of industry best practice and standards

Who are we looking for?

You will have a thorough understanding of all Mechanical Equipment maintenance activity, acting as a subject matter expert for the offshore asset team. Beyond that, we are interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • Strong influencing ability and a high degree of flexibility in your working style expected for you to adapt to changing operational and business environments and priorities
  • A role model mindset for HSSE & Assurance compliance, working within HSE requirements and ensuring that related activities are planned and conducted in compliance with current policies and practices
  • Significant experience in offshore operations maintenance activity and application of safety and control systems, ideally from an offshore operator background (ECITB Maintenance Level 3 Standard or equivalent)

Commercial Advisor

CNOOC International seeks a proactive, self-motivated, team oriented Commercial Advisor to evaluate growth opportunities across our Europe and Africa Exploration Portfolio. As a Commercial Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class results by:

  • Generating and promoting New Venture opportunities to grow CNOOC International’s exploration portfolio and allow us to fulfil our corporate objectives for 2019 and beyond.
  • Supporting opportunities worked technically from CNOOC’s Uxbridge & Beijing offices,.
  • Evaluating a variety of opportunities generated using your contacts and industry databases and managing farm-in & farm-outs opportunities.

Process Operator

This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Position. This is not a fly in/fly out camp position.

We are seeking Process Operators to join our Oil Sands operations. Our asset expansion plans are ramping up and creating multiple quality opportunities for Process Operators at the established Long Lake SAGD facility as well as the Kinosis 1A facility which is being prepared for restart.

You will be working a shift of 7on – 7off that rotates between days and nights. As a Fort McMurray based Process Operator, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant process equipment whether you are based at Long Lake or Kinosis 1A. This includes interacting with and supporting the Maintenance, Technical, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Social Responsibility teams within the oil sands division of the North American business.

As a CNOOC International Process Operator your contributions will include, but not be limited to,

  • Adhering and enforcing safety policies and procedures;
  • Applying and developing equipment lockouts;
  • Issuing and managing safe work permits;
  • Environmental stewardship;
  • Operating equipment within established parameters per established procedures;
  • Supporting/responding to unit operations and equipment requirements, including Shift Turnover, Start of Shift Orientation, troubleshooting, and Defined Rounds;
  • Communicating between the Control Room Operator (CRO) and Field Operator (FO) within the Unit across areas and with the Shift Supervisor;
  • Conducting assigned activities in accordance to approved directives and procedures;
  • Run to Target, report deviations in the e-log and escalate to Maintenance/Technical/Production for assistance as required;
  • Managing abnormal situations by initiating a controlled hierarchy of Stabilize/Slowdown/Shutdown (SSS);
  • Participating in and completing required training to achieve a high level of understanding and competency;
  • Adhering to CNOOC International’s Drug and Alcohol Policy;
  • Adhering to all principles of the Production Department Operations Excellence Process.

Contract Process Operator

Working a rotating shift of 7on – 7off (day/nights), the Contract Process Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of the plant process equipment within a scope of responsibility to meet the business needs of the facility. This includes interacting with and supporting the Maintenance, Technical, and Health, Safety, Environmental and Social Responsibility teams within the Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage business unit.

This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Position. This is not a fly in/fly out camp position.

***This is a one-year contract position. The position would be based at the Long Lake Site located 50km SE of Fort McMurray, near Anzac, AB. There may  be an opportunity for contract renewal depending on business need at the end of the term. Relocation is not provided.***

  • Must have MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Good written and verbal communication;
  • Minimum 1 year Plant site experience in a SAGD operation;
  • Experience in hands-on support of operations technical, and maintenance work teams;
  • A valid driver license is required.
