Project Engineering Co-Op 

The Lima Refinery has a challenging and rewarding opportunity available for a Project Engineering Co-op (Fall 2019).This position is open to post-secondary students who are interested in gaining experience in the oil and gas industry.Recent graduates are not eligible for this opportunity.

The Project Engineering Co-op provides technical assistance for the execution of capital improvement projects. Primary efforts will be directed toward field engineering support on ongoing project construction. Additional assistance will be required in project data research and verification for projects in the engineering phase. The candidate will perform engineering analysis, drawing research, technical data gathering and field surveys.You will be expected to gain familiarity with the assigned projects and develop working relationships with the project engineering personnel.Outside contacts could include engineering firms, construction contractors and equipment suppliers.

Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineering Co-Op 

The Lima Refinery Maintenance team has a challenging and rewarding opportunity available for a Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineering Co-Op (Fall 2019).
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Rotating Equipment Reliability Department with researching and updating records, drawings, and computerized systems.  This position will include research of specific topics associated with mechanical equipment in an effort to justify and implement reliability improvement. This position will include working with other Engineers and Maintenance personnel. Opportunity will be provided to witness the disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating machinery (pump, compressors, and turbines). This position is intended to provide learning beyond data entry into databases, and will involve work with vibration analysis, oil condition monitoring, and other predictive measurement techniques.

  • Gathers and enters updated information into existing or newly created spreadsheets.  Data may come from engineering files or from verification of equipment located throughout the refinery.
  • May contact machinery vendors for missing/required information.

  • Predictive maintenance tools may be utilized to examine machinery to assess machinery condition and to determine scope of work during machine overhaul.

Safety/PSM Co-Op

Husky’s Lima Refinery is seeking a Safety/PSM Co-Op (Fall 2019) to assist our Safety Department in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and refinery policies and procedures concerning health, safety and industrial hygiene through education, training and auditing. This position is open to post-secondary students who are interested in gaining experience in the oil and gas industry and who will be returning to school in 2018. Recent graduates are not eligible for this opportunity.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs daily safety procedure audits and inspections as needed.
  • Assists in the delivery of the Contractor Safety Training.
  • Conducts Industrial Hygiene exposure monitoring (noise, benzene) as directed by Industrial Hygienist.
  • Assists with the development of HMIS signs and labeling.
  • Performs field verification of Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID’s) and Isometric drawings.
  • Assist in Management of Change meeting packet formulation and HAZOP preparation. 
  • Attend and participate in Team meetings involving Process Safety Management (PSM) matters and Incident Investigations.
  • Performs the annual respiratory protection program audit for the Safety Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate Environmental, Health, Safety, Engineering or Science program
  • Must be a self-starter with basic knowledge of the safety and/or industrial hygiene field

Sr Staff Geophysicist

Husky is currently looking for a Senior Staff Geophysicist to jointheir Exploration – Geophysical Services department at their Calgary, AB location.

This is a key technical position responsible forproviding advanced Geophysical interpretation expertise and analysis withinGeophysical Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for workingwith BU’s across Husky using a pro-active, collaborative approach and applyingmodern, cost-effective technology and innovative approaches to deliver quality,timely solutions enabling Husky BU’s to exploit oil and gas opportunitiesprofitably.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of Quantitative Interpretation geophysical analyses and interpretationproject deliverables for BU’s across Husky
  • Application of advanced geophysics for reservoir characterization inonshore and offshore environments including AVO Intercept/Gradient and FluidFactor analysis; Quantitative Interpretation including Rock Physics modelling, RockProperties analysis, computing and analyzing all types of Inversions includingDeterministic, Simultaneous, EEI, Stochastic, Joint PP/PS and 4D.
  • Application of advanced seismic visualization techniques, advancedseismic attribute analysis & other specialized geophysical interpretationmethods for 2D, 3D and 4D data.
  • Advising on seismic processing of land and marine data.
  • Collaboratively developing and documenting Husky Proven Practicesrelating to advanced geophysical interpretation techniques.
  • Championing, advising on, testing and applying leading-edge geophysicaltechnologies (e.g. DAS, FWI, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence) andworking with internal and external experts to advance Husky’s competitiveadvantage through the use of geoscience technology and innovation.
  • Advising on, developing and conducting geophysical training andmentoring as an SME.
  • Active participation in technical reviews & peer assists, and ingeotechnology forums.
