Advancement Services Officer

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Advancement Services, the Advancement Services Officer is responsible for excellent donor relations by ensuring that all gifts are received and processed accurately, and as efficiently as possible. This position is also responsible for the advancement database as well as providing support to Advancement and Finance staff who use it or require information from it. Key responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all donor, awards and prospect information in the database, and providing reporting to advancement, stewardship and awarding activities. The Advancement Services Officer will support the Director, Advancement Services to administer and troubleshoot the advancement database, develop and enforce policies and practices related to the use of the database, and analyze reports to make recommendations for changes to processes.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess at minimum a four-year degree in Business Management, Database Management, or Computer Applications including courses in fundraising and accounting. Knowledge of fundraising methodology is required. Three years of related experience in database administration and report writing, experience with database reporting tools, strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to interpret guidelines and determine when decisions or processes need to be reviewed/revised is required, Additional requirements include: proficiency in Raiser’s Edge – minimum 5 years experience; experience with Import-O-Matic; and experience in a fundraising environment.
