Venue Services Attendant

The Venue Services Attendant is a member of the Venue Services Team, responsible for ensuring facility cleanliness, sanitation and overall appearance during all shifts. This position involves providing exceptional customer service to all clients, guests and other departments, the operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, performing housekeeping/janitorial services and facility operations.

This position is for overnight shifts. The successful candidate will be available to work from 11:00 pm – 8:00 am.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide exceptional customer services to internal and external customers.
  • Perform housekeeping/janitorial services.
  • Assist with heavy manual tasks involved in event set-up and tear-out, attend coat check and report concerns and challenges to Venue Services supervisor for follow-up.
  • Operate motorized vehicles and equipment.
  • Carry out facility operations and maintenance.
  • Conduct routine security checks and vehicle inspections.
  • Follow safety procedures and environmental programs and report concerns, challenges and offer input to Venue Services supervisor for follow-up.
  • Train, orient, monitor and motivate staff, as required.
  • Perform all duties of venue services attendant, as required.
  • Assembling and dismantling of steel walls.

Venue Services Team Lead

The Venue Services Team Leader is a member of the Venue Services Team, responsible for assisting the Venue Services supervisor in providing leadership to the Venue Services Team, while maintaining the venues and following safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Aid the Venue Services supervisor with the execution of daily activities.
  • Liaise with internal departments, clients and coordinators to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental efforts in Calgary Stampede facilities and follow programs and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform housekeeping/janitorial tasks, as required.
  • Perform all duties of venue services attendant 1 through venue services attendant 3, as required.
  • Operate motorized vehicles and equipment, as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Provide excellent customer service and consistently demonstrate professionalism.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must demonstrate social awareness and communicate with tack and diplomacy.
  • Cleaning and maintenance knowledge and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license (Non GDL).
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment is an asset.
  • Must not have a fear of working around large animals and livestock.
  • Ability to read English in order to understand instructions, notices, hazards and labels.
